Lenovo Ideapad Y550 Waves MaxxAudio problem...

2012-01-02, 22:19 PM

Hi, i have just installed Win. 7 Ultimate 64 Bit on my Y550-20017, installed latest drivers from http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/ but i think something is gone wrong, because when i looked to my Realtek High Definition Audio Driver, i can't see Waves MaxxAudio tab, i tried every Y550 model (Y550A, Y550, Y550P) Realtek Driver for Win. 7 64 Bit but couldn't find it. I was using MaxxAudio often so i really need help.

hi bloodin
as you read, only way is to install 2.29 version. you can also try to update drivers realtek.com, it may work

hope this helps.

realtek drivers from version 2.40 do not support waves maxxaudio, therefor its support is lost.
you have to downgrade the drivers (I use 2.29 at the moment) in order to get this function back.

Thank you, i found Win. 7 64 Bit compatible Realtek HD Audio Driver 2.29 from one other site then:

1- I am deleted my Realtek HD Audio Driver 2.40 (downloaded from Lenovo Support) and rebooted,
2- Installed Realtek HD Audio Driver 2.29 (found in other sites) and rebooted

It worked :smileywink: But this also sets light to one other thing: Waves MaxxAudio files is not in Realtek HD Audio Driver, these files comes with Lenovo OneKey Theater Driver...

Edit: I have one other problem, my old Waves MaxxAudio was support headphones and external speakers, but now; it only supports internal speakers.... How can i solve this?
