Re: Lenovo Ideapad Y560D AC Adapter/Battery Problem

- click start and type device in the search field, then select device manager .
- expand the batteries category.
- under the batteries category, right-click the microsoft acpi compliant control method battery listing, and select disable .
warning: do not remove the microsoft ac adapter driver or any other acpi compliant driver.
- wait for couple of minutes, maybe 3, then select enable.

or

- click start and type device in the search field, then select device manager .
- expand the batteries category.
- under the batteries category, right-click the microsoft acpi compliant control method battery listing, and select disable .
warning: do not remove the microsoft ac adapter driver or any other acpi compliant driver.
on the device manager taskbar, click scan for hardware changes .
alternately, select action > scan for hardware changes .

Re: Lenovo Ideapad Y560D AC Adapter/Battery Problem

I followed ur instructions but it still didnt fix the problem. When i diable microsoft acpiI compliant control method battery, I checked the Lenovo Energy Management. It showed that battery is 0% and ac power plugged in but when i enable the control method battery later, I saw that the battery is down to 50% and it was 100% before i disable the battery thing. So the laptop is using the battery all along not the ac power, that's pretty strange, isnt it?

Re: Lenovo Ideapad Y560D AC Adapter/Battery Problem

ignore it.

skip this if i asked before, try to re-install power management ( un-install it before, restart your computer and when you see lenovo logo, press f8 to load safe mode, then install it, restart your computer ) and check if issue persists.

or just un-install power management, restart your computer ( do not install anything ) and check if it works.

otherwise, you have to contact lenovo support line. ( due to hardware issue )

or to make sure, you can use linux live cd ( without installing ) and you can check if issue persists on linux, too.

post back the results.
