Lenovo Ideapad Y580 files redownloading issue with SSD (D: drive)

So whenever I delete the drivers files in the SSD drive and restart the computer, the files appear again. How do I prevent this or redirect it to my HDD drive (Main C: drive)

PC Specs:

Windows 8.1 64bit

Intel i7

Nvidia GTX 660M

Sandisk SSD U100 16 GB (D: Drive)

ST1000LM024 HN-M101MBB (1 TB C: Drive if it matters)

Driver file contents are:

  • AHCI
  • Audio
  • Camera
  • CardReader
  • IRST
  • LAN
  • MEI
  • TouchPad
  • VGA
  • WLAN

Each of these have setup.exe associated with their programs.

Thanks!

See if you can snag the offending process that's writing these files by looking in Resource Monitor > Disk tab as soon as the system boots.

Alternatively, you can delete everything in the root folder and revoke all write permissions to the root folder using an ACL.
