Lenovo Y-50 cannot boot up, Black screen after windows logo

Please help!

My mouse does not work properly, so I go to msconfig and check the "start up window with basic setting" (sth like that, the second choice on the 1st tab), then I restarted me computer.

After that, my computer show nth after the windows logo but my mouse pointer, the keyboard is not responding but my mouse does.

I cannot not boot up my computer using safe mode either. It turns out the same, black screen with a white pointer.

It's a windows 7 OS.

Can anyone save my computer??

Re: Lenovo Y-50 cannot boot up, Black screen after windows logo

Hi there, Kennthyd                 -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

- Press ctrl+alt+delete and run task manager.
- On the processes tab, right click on "explorer.exe" > select "end process"
- Left click on file on the menu bar > select "new task" > type "explorer" then press enter.

Also,

When you are in the Black screen with mouse situation, Try Pressing Windows key + R to open a run box

If that open type in msconfig  and let me know if that pulled up the  system configuration window.

Update us how it goes.

Regards,

Re: Lenovo Y-50 cannot boot up, Black screen after windows logo

Thank you for replying my post, Sir.

i was messing with the computer and finally i got it fixed by using the function Last Known Good Configuration by hitting F8 during bootup. So i got it booted up normally now.

However i am encoutering annother problem that my mouse left click isn't triggering everytime i click it. Something like i have to click it so hard to make it reponsive. I tried to mess with the startup services by typing msconfig. It got fixed but after a few days, same situation happens again.

Not sure if it is appropriate or not to talk about this here but hope i can get some clue about this issues, since it had happened a few times before and it just keeps coming back. Sometime left click, sometime right click.

Thank you for your attention.

Could be a loose connection inside the laptop. Kindly re-seat the touchpad & check if issue persist. You can start by flushing out all static, remove battery and AC adaptor and hold down power button for about 15 seconds.

Update us how it goes.

Re: Lenovo Y-50 cannot boot up, Black screen after windows logo

I checked all the strews and cleaned up the dust inside the computer. i couldn't remove the battery since the strews are so tight to be removed. However, the issue seems to be fixed and my mouse is working just fine now.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
