Lenovo Y400

Hello,

I currently own a Lenovo3000 Y400 (9454-48A). I am planning to upgrade the memory; so I would like to know the maximum memory I can use on this computer. I would also like to know what type of memory I need to purchase.

Have a great day.

Thank you.

Re: Lenovo Y400

Originally it comes with a 512MB RAM DDR2 667MHz.

You can add a Max of 2GB Additional to that 512MB if you are using Windows XP.

They also say that, if you are using Windows XP you can have a max of 3GB. But I tried it but it won't boot. so I settled for 2GB+512MB instead.

I also read that for Windows Vista 64bit, you can have a max of 4GB. not sure if it will work. haven't tried it yet.

by the way, i have the same laptop - Lenovo 3000 Y400 9454-48A.

Re: Lenovo Y400

Hello,

My laptop - Lenovo Y400(9454-32A). May I know what is the difference by having different model number? Recently I changed my windows into Vista but I am facing a problem which that my laptop will automatically shut down. Is this because of my memory is not big enough to support vista? I am thinking of changing the memory into bigger RAM(maybe about 4GB) but I am worry that my laptop can't support it. I bought this laptop 1 year ++ and not facing any big problem yet which need to be send back for repair but it seems a little slow. I would be appreciate for any suggestion of upgrading this laptop.

Thank youSmiley Very Happy
