My Lenovo Y430 - Optiarc DVD RW AD-7640S ATA Device dvd drive not working
Its not reading any of the cds/DVDs.
Please could you help me out how to correct this one
Once am placing any dvds the dvddrive light is blinking and after couple of seconds its not blinking more.
Mine is on WIndows Vista SP2
I checked dvd/cd-rom drivers in device manager its showing 'enabled' 'device is working properly' and registry settings also for 'upperclass' or 'lowerclass' entry all good.
Please someone help me out how to solve this problem.
Many thanks in advance.

Delete UpperFilters and LowerFilters as per this guide. Let us know if this helps.

I have a similar Laptop with same OS (Vista Home Premium SP2), but my DVD drive is "Optiarc DVD RW AD-7560S ATA Device".
I have a similar problem as stated by the OP. I'm able to read and write a CD (MP3, Movies, Data); read DVD movies, and also write DVD data. But the problem is with reading DVD Data files. I'm not able to read the DVD Data that I myself had written with the same drive.
The Driver doesn't seems to have a problem. And my Registry doesn't have the UpperFilters and LowerFilters entries.
Is this a problem with the DVD reader? Do I need to change the Drive? Or any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance!!

@ yigit. Thanks for the response. But I feel I 'm not expert enough to try your suggestions. I feel the problem is with the Hardware. I probably will walk down to my Local service Centre and get it fixed.
