Lenovo Y50-70 + 4K screen = 30 fps max?!

Hey guys,

I have the following notebook:

  • Intel Core i7-4710HQ (2,50 GHz with TurboBoost up to 3,5 GHz), UHD-Display 3840x2160 px), Nvidia GeForce GTX 860M 4 GB, Microsoft Windows 8,1 64-bit
  • 16 GB DDR3 1600 MHz RAM, 512 GB SSD, 4-in-1 cardreader, 1x HDMI, 2x USB 3,0, 1x USB 2,0, WLAN 801,11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4,0

and the following screen:

      Samsung U28D590D 28 inch

  • reaction time:1 ms (G/G); resolution: 3840x2160 pixel
  • brightness: 300cd/m²; contrast: 1000:1; 1 billion colours; Picture-by-Picture-Function
  • supports HDMI 1.4 (3.840 x 2.160, 30 Hz) and Display Port 1.2 (3.840 x 2.160, 60 Hz)

Here is my problem:

the notebook does not have an DisplayPort slot. Is there any chance to get the screen running at 60 Hz?

If i connect it through HDMI, I just get 30 Hz.

I also bought a switch cable HDMI to DP, but it is not working.

Thanks in advance,

Best,

Julian
