I have owned this Lenovo laptop for about 3 years now, so I definitely don't have a warranty for it any more.
So 2 days ago I got a blue screen saying there was an error (which started happening for a few weeks now very rarely on random occasions), and my windows wouldn't launch anymore. After research, I checked the BIOS and it says that my hard-drive is not detected. Thing is, sometimes it works for a few minutes and I can launch windows but then it crashes (in which case when I had checked the bios the hard-drive would be detected). I tried unplugging and replugging the hard-drive, and that didn't work. I plugged the hard-drive to another computer as an external hard-drive and it works fine there, without any real issues.
When I tried doing a factory reset, it just gets stuck on the initilisation so that doesn't work either.
So I'm guessing it's not a real problem with the hard-drive. I asked a local computer repair shop and he told me that it's an issue with the bios, but I'm kinda out of ideas about what to do.
Any thoughts? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Welcome to the Community Forums.
Issue may be intermittent but make sure to take the opportunity backing up your files.
Running hardware diagnostics may be able to verify the harddrive integrity.
If you can have a known good harddrive to also swap with the system then we can further isolate the issue. Checking on the connector for clean contacts may also help.
Update us how it goes.
