I have posted this in under a different topic but then I discovered this section, and I cannot find out how to delete the previous post.
I am new to post in this forum, so please excuse any misunderstandings.
I have a Lenovo laptop Y50-70. However, whenever i plug in the I get the message "Adapter is not supported", telling me that the power adapter does not match up with the computer and cannot supply power.
I have tried buying a brand-new power adapter, an original that is. This does however not help and i get the same message.
I have consulted several of your different threads to solve the issue, but none of them have worked:
It apears to be a rather general problem, but as from what I can figure out there is no resolution to this.
I really hope you could have some suggestion to what could resolve my problem.

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.
Try a static discharge for this, it may help to resolve the issue or at least get rid of any built up static on the motherboard.
(If the battery is internal, please just skip the remove/replace battery steps.)
1. Turn the unit off
2. Remove the battery and the Mains adapter
3. Press and hold the front power button for 30 seconds
4. Replace the battery and the Mains adapter
5. Turn the unit on as normal
However, it is possible that the charger may be weaker than it is needed.
Unfortunately if the new charger has not solved the issue, then there will likely be something more fundamentally wrong with the unit.
Attempt a factory reset, make sure that you backup your files as this will reset the unit back to the factory settings.
If these steps do not work I would recommend, that you call your local Lenovo support line for a possible service. Below is the link to the phone list where you can find these numbers
Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.
Did someone help you today? Thank them with a Kudo!

Hi Krakken, thanks for the response.
I will give the discharge a go, and get back to you.
The new charger should be completely identical to the original, so it should not be a problem.

- did the adapter you had every work, how long and properely
I'm not sre I understand your correctlly, but yes the original adapter have worked for a long time.
- is it a Lenovo adapter and what amps or watt rating is it.
Yes, as i wrote both of them are completly original Lenovo adapters. The output corresponds with the requirement for the laptop (20 Volts and 6.75 amperes)

The discharge unfortunately did not have any effect. What happens now is that I don't get any warning that the adapter does not match when I plug it in, it just dosen't charge.
Nest step will probably be to reset the computer. Do you know if it will remove Windows 10, if the computer came with Window 8?
