As the title says, my laptop's screen flickers. Let me say a few things i have tried.
- I have already rolled back and downloaded again my intel's graphic card drivers.
- I have done the same for the Nvidia graphics card but not just roll back but a complete removal.
- I have pushed back and forth my screen slowly (nothing happened)
The thing is, i have noticed that the screen flickers mostly when i switch on my laptop and not while it's working. Moreover, when i rolled back into previous drivers (intel's), by the time the procedure ended, the screen went into a rage and started flickering a lot, turning red and blinking and after a while it stopped.
Here's a small video while i was working on the laptop --> https://youtu.be/l25SyC-c8gU
I know that there is already a post about it but i though of creating a new one once i had a video included.
P.S : The laptop is 5 months old.

Hi OreP ,
Welcome to the Community Forums.
Would you have Windows 10 ?
There is a service tip regarding flickering after update that was noted.
You can try to follow the recommended steps here as BIOS update is suggested.
Additional steps that you may also try as fellow member shared here for similar issue.
I would not suggest that you try reseating the LCD cable as warranty do not require you rather call in technical support as per service tip specially if the flickering do not show up in an external display.
Update us how it goes.

Thank you for your reply spidey.
I have windows 10 and as far as i remember, the screen started flickering long before the windows update.
Unfortunately, nothing worked for me. I already have the latest bios and my intel graphics card does not have the self refresh panel. I also downloaded the Intel's Extreme Tuning Utility and made the reccomended changes but after a while screen flickered for a while. The strange thing about my laptop is that sometimes there is no flickering, like today i switched it on and until now, i saw no flickers. I guess its very random but that cannot be the case cause it will get worst.

Hi OreP ,
As we have this issue before any updates and likewise Tried both BIOS and driver updates (or even tried original and older basic drivers) we can have the assistance of technical support for further recommendation.
Again LCD cable are FRU (field replaceable unit) with active warranty so best to conduct with the tech guys procedures to take from here . You may also run diagnostic test before calling in tech since the issue is random.

Good luck if you have to send in your laptop. I sent mine in on Aug 4 (same problem.) It is now Oct 6. The current status is that they are waiting for a part and there is still no ETA. Clearly they have no idea when they will get the part. So they seem to think they can hold it indefinitely. This could easily be 6 months. In the meantime, the value of the laptop keeps depreciating, and what am I supposed to do in the meantime? Go out and by another laptop? The warranty says that they will either repair or replace it. Now you know the Lenovo warranty is worthless.

This is an update.
I still haven't found a permanent solution to my problem. The thing is that i have to write down all the unusual behavior my laptop has because there are too many, at least in my opinion.
- Screen still flickers in colors of red, although lately, its not that often and i didn't do anything. (a very small flicker, once per day)
- Screen flickers into black screen and back again after sleep mode or after i turn it on. (happens randomly, sometimes 3 or 4 times per day, or once per 2 to 3 days)
- Laptop turns off automatically and it has done that after turning it on or after sleep mode. (this has happened 5 to 8 times give or take since i bought it and i have it almost 6 months)
- Some settings are changed after the automatic turn off (this is a guess), like energy management settings. (i usually notice that when i see my battery fully charged instead of the 60% setting, which i normally have).
I feel that my laptop has too many problems to count and i believe that this behavior is not normal for a six months old machine. The thing is that in my country, service is kinda dreadfull. If they dont see a problem right away, there are going to assume that there nothing wrong with it and my laptop has some very random problems.
Do you have any recommendations?

Hi OreP ,
Recommended for this event if current BIOS fail to resolve the issue is to call in technical support.
"The Lenovo investigation into customer reports of blanking or blinking displays on Y50-70, Y50-70 Touch, and Y70-70 Touch laptops has concluded. If you are experiencing these symptoms, please upgrade your laptop to BIOS v3.03 or above: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/DS100998
If the updated BIOS fails to resolve these symptoms, please contact Lenovo Service for support and reference Service TIP # SF15-I0026/ HT104155."
I would suggest the same while your warranty is up.

I contacted lenovo technical support and they suggested i should try resetting windows and start fresh again and if that didnt work, i should send my laptop to them. I did that and now i am mising lenovo energy management. Before resetting, i had an red icon in the arrow pop up window next to battery where it had the battery management, dust removal and something about the hard drive but now its gone. Any suggestions?
My laptop is the Y50-70 and my OS is win10 (ever since i bought it)
