Lenovo Y50-70 auto restart

Hi guys,

my laptop has been auto restarting recently. It just restarts no error or anything just straight away shows the laptop restarting screen. This only happens once a day. I have no idea why this is happening. Can anyhow help me with it.

Re: Lenovo Y50-70 auto restart

Hi there, Benny –

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

Usually PCs automatically shut off at a certain temperature threshold. If you don't flush out the vent system every 3 months at most, it can get extremely hot.

If you want to see the temperature of the CPU, check out this utility, should work:

SpeedFan

I used to see PCs that idle'd at 85 Celsius, with the shutoff temperature being 90 Celsius. If you find it idling warmer than 50 Celsius, then you should definitely buy some Dust Off or similar product and blow out the vents.

Update us how it goes.
