Lenovo Y50-70 only turn on with the charger plugged in

Hi! I have a y50-70 from like 3 years and it worls very well until last week. I've tried to turn it on but it only turn on the keyboard leds and the led in the power button is like very weak and blinking. I've tried to press the power button for 20s and then turn it on again but it does the exact same thing.
When I was at home I've plugged the power cord in it and the screen turns on immediatly! Then I've turned it off and tried again without the powerd cord and nothing, only keyboards leds on and off 3 times.
Can you help me with that issue please?

Best regards!

Re: Lenovo Y50-70 only turn on with the charger plugged in

Hello TBarros1

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.

Hopefully it`s nothing serious and no more than perhaps a battery issue.

Try to see if you can start the unit up with the NOVO button, hopefully this is able to get you into the recovery menu.

Otherwise, I would recommend that if you have warranty, get in touch with your local Lenovo support line for a repair.

Below is the link to the phone list where you can find these numbers

However, if you do not, and you are confident that you can open up the laptop yourself, then you can attempt to exchange the battery yourself.

The following is a video on how to remove the battery, to insert it, just repeat the process backwards:

You can also find the steps in your hardware manual:

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.
