Can you explain a bit more on your solution? I think I may have the same problem:

Thanks!

Problems with screen flicker

2017-04-12, 6:48 AM

I have his annoying problem with screen flicker after the laptop is awoke from sleep:

It's pretty severe. Usually I can wait it out and then things return to normal. The problem is I don't know if it is "serious" and will eventually result in complete failure. Obviously, I don't want that.

Anyone know what to do about this? It seems like a LOT of people have had similar problems, as atested on you-tube, so maybe there is a work-around or fix now.

I have a Y-50

intel core i7-4700HQ CPU 2.40GHz
8GB

nvidia GeForce GTX 860M

2MB video GDDR5
direct X 12

intel HD Graphics 4600

1920x1080

Hello Tvthompsonii

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.

Goign by your recording, this seems like some sort of connection issue, doesn`t seem like it would be caused by any software as far as I know.

Try to download the Video and Chipset drivers for the unit from the support page.

Make sure to reboot after an update.

Try a static discharge for this, it may help to resolve the issue or at least get rid of any built up static on the motherboard.

(If the battery is internal, please just skip the remove/replace battery steps.)
1. Turn the unit off
2. Remove the battery and the Mains adapter
3. Press and hold the front power button for 30 seconds
4. Replace the battery and the Mains adapter
5. Turn the unit on as normal

If these steps do not work I would recommend, that you call your local Lenovo support line for a possible service. Below is the link to the phone list where you can find these numbers

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.
