The lightly used screen hinge on my Lenovo Y50 just broke, and like many other people, I contacted Lenovo about it. I was told it was "not really a known issue" and that they wouldn't do anything because it's no longer under warranty. I informed the person that a quick search found hundreds of reports of the exact same problem, including on the Lenovo forum, but they refused to acknowledge anything.
How disappointing. I will try again to get a more honest acknowledgement of the issue. If that fails, it will certainly be the last computer I buy from Lenovo. I guess that's the only recourse we have. Just buy a different product next time and hope enough people do the same so that the company eventually changes its practices.
