Lenovo Y500 Wi-Fi Upgrades

2016-07-25, 15:00 PM

I'm looking to install a dual-band WLAN adapter into my Y500, but it is unclear which models are compatible. One option I've found is the Intel 3160. Does anyone know if that will work, or have a better suggestion? Thanks!

Hi bmundt6 ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

OEM whitelisted WIFI card available on your hardware manual downloadable from the support site.

Herewith is a detailed discussion of the same query that would best answer it.

" According to the Y500 HMM
These are the whitelisted wireless cards you "should be able" to upgrade to:  "

Do take time to review the topic as alternative to wlan for your model .
