I tried to power up laptop. It would not power up. just white blinking light. I tried most recommendations i found online, like unplug power adapter, batter, hit button 10 seconds, 15 seconds 30 seconds, remove ram nothgint works.
I removed back cover. unplugged i guess the power port. then blinking light went away, I thought maybe it's stuck in sleep mode. It was defintily dead. plugged back in power port. The blinking light came back. the fan spans. just computer does not boot up. What are the odds both batter and power adapter both dead.
thanks for your help,

Welcome to the Community Forums.
You can try the Power Checkout guide here (page 21) to check if the ac charger is ok.
Try removing the battery and harddrive to test one ram at a time on each slot. This can narrow down and make the machine run on minimum powered parts but should at least show display pressing on the Novo button to power on with a connected good ac charger.
Proceed cleaning the fan and perhaps reapplying some thermal paste.
Observe any physical burnt parts and loose cables but if it is still the same, you may have the service center verify if the motherboard is affected. We are hoping they can do board level testing before deciding to have a full board replacement if needed.
I hope this helps answer your query.
