Lenovo Y500 speakers not working but headsets are in Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

I am using a Lenovo Y500 for the last year and a half and would say that I am a satisfied customer.


However, I have run into a very peculiar issue.

I downgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

Audio Driver Realtek ALC 269. Dolby Home Theatre v 4 installed.

Nvidia GeForce GTX 650M (driver version: 344.11)


My on board JBL speakers have stopped working. But, when i plugin the audio jack of my 2.1 system, I am able to get audio on the 2.1.


I have tried installing uninstalling drivers from Realtek and Lenovo (even tried with drivers for 8.1 64 bit) but to no success.


Can someone please help me out here?

As per the query we understood that as you facing issue with speaker not working in your Y500 laptop.


As you have mentioned that the external speaker is working, this might be issue with the laptop speaker hence I would like to suggest you to visit the nearest service centre for further details.
