Hi, I was just wondering if it is normal for a laptop to heat up on idle like downloading a large file.
The bottom part actually heats up but not to an extent that it makes me paranoid since it just feels "warm".
I was downloading a game in steam, Is it safe to leave it on for the night?
Btw, I live in the Philippines so the ambiant temps. are not really good but the laptop stays at a desk and also raised
for more air intake.
I leave it on Green Mode when I idle and download something and the close lid is set to "Do Nothing" since I need it awake to continue downloading. My main concern is it safe to leave it on overnight?

Hi Davidgunnari,
Welcome to the Forums
As per the query we understood that you are facing issue with system heating while idle in your Lenovo Y50-70 laptop.
Try to clean the dust, go to energy manager select maintenance guide option under this select dust removal application and check for the issue.
Also clear all the background running application, try to update the BIOS to the latest version and check for the issue.
Click here for the BIOS update.
Hope this helps. Do post back if the issue persists.
Best regards,
Ashwin. S
