Lenovo Y5070 not starting up

Hi, my laptop is one year old and a month ago it started acting weirdly. It's not starting if i have shut it down recently  (less than 6 hours maybe) and i keep on hard shutting it down and trying to switch it on again with no luck, i can hear the fans working and the power button is lit in blue as usual but other than that is just a black screen no matter how long I wait, and if I waited for 10 mins the laptop gets carzily hot. I had a way in dealing with this by trying after an hour or so after trying to switch on and hard switch of if not booting for 3 or 4 times and it would boot normally eventually. Now the gap is increasing and it's becoming worse. I need urgent help please and sorry for the long post I'm trying to be as accurate as possible.

Re: Lenovo Y5070 not starting up

Hi there, Amira-

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

I suggest you to perform the Flee-Power.

  1. Unplug AC adapter (remove from notebook).
  2. Remove main battery
  3. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds (power drain)
  4. Replace main battery
  5. Replace AC adapter

Now try re-starting your system

Update us how it goes.

Unfortunately this didn't solve the problem.

Re: Lenovo Y5070 not starting up

You can hook up an external monitor, change out the ram chips and check the hard drive.  If they have to go any deeper then they would be voiding the warranty.

If they find that it's a problem with the monitor that would then have to be handled by warranty service. If none of the above is the problem, then it "could" be a problem with the motherboard and that would also have to be handled by warranty service.

Update us how it goes.

Re: Lenovo Y5070 not starting up

unfortunately it is out of the warranty, I went to 2 seperate centers and both told me it looks like there is a problem with the graphics card that happens when the laptop gets warm which happens often in gaming laptops, they suggested repalcing it but they didn't find a spare part (the card is Nivida Getforce GTX). to be honest, i'm not convinced that the problem is with the graphics card because as i know it would make some peepig sound at start up which doesn' happen. They tried couple of things like checking the rams and the hard desk with no luck.

Do you have further suggestion? and Do you know a service center that has a lot of experince with lenovo in London so i can check with them?
