Re: Lenovo Y510p nvidia 755m gaming major lag on battery-when AC power removed

Gaming laptops need to be plugged in to run at their full rated speed.  You would need a battery the size of a car battery if you wanted to play 3D games at full speed on the Y510P.  That's obviously not practical so laptops are designed to throttle and slow down the CPU or the GPU and usually both when on battery power.

Forcing a little battery to provide full power will result in significantly shortening its life span and could result in a laptop fire.  No manufacturer wants that to happen so throttling is the result.  Do a Google search for laptop fire images and you will understand that this problem is real.

Re: Lenovo Y510p nvidia 755m gaming major lag on battery-when AC power removed

The Battery in this gaming laptop is not sufficient enough to drive the GT755M grpahics card at full power, you will never get the maximum performance gaming on battery.

You have to be always plugged in while gaming for maximum satisfaction.
