Hello everyone, I have a problem with my Lenovo y510p model, recently it started making a weird behavior when I power it on. When I try to start the machine using the normal start button sometimes it goes into the un-dusting cycle (similar to that of Energy management), it finishes it and then after few seconds I can power it on normally. Sometimes it goes into 2 or 3 consecutive un-dusting cycles before I can power it on. It's really starting to become annoying and want to know what it's doing the behavior. I tried powering the machine without HDD to see if it's a software related problem and it does the same behavior, also tried removing the second video card with the same result.

First thought about how you describe it is to check the thermal cooling system including the fan.
You can try perhaps to re-apply thermal paste and clean out the fan assembly (page 60) and vents. I this does not improve the start up then you can have it further checked if there is a need for fan replacement specially booting in the BIOS or without the harddrive.
I hope this helps answer your query.
Update us how it goes.

Unfortunately re-apply thermal paste and cleaning out the fan assembly did not solve the problem, I think it might be a PCB sensor related problem. Is there a way to boot up from a USB drive with some diagnostics program like the one that tests the ram (MemTest84) but for debugging Lenovo laptops?
