Lenovo Y580, Wifi problems! Dying to fix them. Windows 8

Hey all, new member; but having major problems with connectivity and it's driving me crazy. I've had the laptop for nearly 6 months now; overall I'm pleased but the wifi reliability is a complete letdown. 20-30 times a day I have it slowing down or just outright stopping, and it's so intermittent it's almost impossible to use.

I ran through a troubleshoot with the Windows Network Diagnostics and this is what I got:

Investigate router or broadband modem issues Not run

If you're connected to a hotspot or domain network, contact the network administrator. Otherwise: 1. Unplug or turn off the device. 2. After all the lights on the device are off, wait at least 10 seconds. 3. Turn the device on or plug it back into the power outlet. To restart a router or modem that has a built-in battery, press and quickly release the Reset button.

I just don't know how to fix this and it's really frustrating as as we all do, the internet is a vital source of the laptop as I use it for gaming and programming. I've clean booted and used Safe mode to no avail. Can anyone help?

"08-86-3B-0E-E4-5E Infra <unknown> -67 7 NothingRhymes2"

You're too far from the access point. Get closer until your minimum dbm is -55 dbm. Anything lower than that will result to mixed performance (from good to bad).

You can see mine is -20 dbm here:

Hmm, that's odd, as my old laptop was further from the access point and it had no problems connecting to the internet ever...

Re: Lenovo Y580, Wifi problems! Dying to fix them. Windows 8

Try to post both signal (-dbm) for both laptops at the same location where your Y580 is having problems.
