Lenovo Y580 not turning on

2014-06-15, 16:37 PM
I pressed the power button and the light came up for about 5 seconds. Then it's gone.
Nothing came up on the screen. Cpu fan did not work and keyboard light did not turn on.
I tried holding the power button for seconds.
I tried turning on with ac adaptor only.
I tried taking the RAM out and then turned it on.
Nothing works...

I am a Thai student studying in Okinawa, Japan.
So now I am just so nervous because I wont have a computer to work on.

Anyone who knows this problem, Would you please please please help me solving this.

The warranty status says that
Base warranty has expired but Warranty upgrade is still active until November25th, 2014
So can I get it fixed without charge??

if nothing solves it, then it maybe is that motherboard has gone or that AC plugg on motherboard is broken causing the power not to enter fully at all but i doubt that could be it if the light turns on for few seconds and then turns off so it sounds more like a motherboard issue if the AC-adapter is cause of it.

Check the ac adapter by following the procedure given in the hardware maintenance manual. Also do the same for the battery.
