Lenovo Y580 webcam

2014-05-10, 14:20 PM

Hello lenovo community

My webcam on my laptop y580 is not working. It isn't listed in the device manager and if I want to start the cam with the hotkey FN+ESC nothing happens. I have already reinstalled the energy management and tried to install the webcam manually. On my system is windows 8.1 installed so the drivers for the webcam are included, or?

Would be glad for any help because I have to do an interview next week.

Greets,

Julian

Drivers for webcam isnt included by default in windows 8/8.1 if you have done a full wipe with a retail windows 8/8.1 disc then you gota manually download all drivers from http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/research/hints-or-tips/detail.page?&DocID=HT073649 there you will find webcam drivers, bluetooth drivers and so on that isnt included by default.

I have already installed all drivers from the lenovo support. But there is no driver for the camera using windows 8.1.

Camera Driver (Bison, Chicony, AzureWave, Dmax) (Inbox) for Windows 8.1 (32-bit, 64-bit) - IdeaPad Y480, Y580

This driver is provided by Microsoft within your Windows 8.1 (32-bit, 64-bit) installation.
Please use the Windows 8.1 Inbox driver.

What is Inbox driver?
Inbox driver is a native driver that is supplied with the Operating System.

What do I need to do?
Driver is automatically installed during installation.
There are no additional actions required by user.

I still have issues with my driver, what do I do next?
Please contact the Technical Support for further assistance.

If I want to run the setup of the windows 8 driver I receive the following message.
