Lenovo Y70 - Display driver Intel HD graphics drivers for windows 8(R) stopped responding and has

I have lenovo y70, this happens to me every day and it is irritating, it stops working even if i'm just using firefox and watching youtube videos, temperature of gpu is normal when this happens. I have windows 10 installed, its a fresh copy of windows 10 and not an upgrade. current driver version is: 10.18.15.4279 , i also had installed driver version from lenovo support site, which is: 10.18.15.4240, but it was also causing problems.

 

Help would be appreciated, regards miha.

4 crashes in one hour in firefox, how awesome feeling, anybody knows the sollution?

I have the same system and the same issue. No support from Lenovo unless you purchase their software warranty. I'm not positive, but I think this began when I upgraded to Windows 10.

What exactly have you done after the installation or update of Win 10?

Nothing special was done after Windows 10 updated.  Yesterday, Lenovo support assisted in updating the driver from Intel (drivers) for a Y70-70 64bit system.  The issue could have been the previous driver was meant for Windows 8, but it is still too soon to say, since it was just yesterday.  This was the error message prior to the update (Display driver stopped responding and has recovered.  Display driver Intel HD Graphics Drivers for WIndows 8(R) stopped responding and has successfully recovered.) If you download this one we choose to select the driver from the Graphics folder (igdlh64).  This version is # 10.18.15.4256 dated 7/17/15.  Now it wait and see time. Good luck!

The original call I made was unsuccessful.  I was informed it was a software issue and I would be required to purchase either a year membership at $199.99 or a onetime use membership at $99.99.
After I spoke with another Lenovo rep, Zach, using 877-453-6686 Option 4 then 2 I was informed the other location I reached was the incorrect location.  I do have an extended warranty of 3 yrs and this issue was covered.

So the 1st statement was correct, and then I dug deeper after the original post.

UPDATE.  The location I called was not the right department and they assumed I was out of warranty. The correct location is 877-453-6686 Options 4 and 2.
