Lenovo Y70 Touch: Screen Flickering

This has been an extremely aggrivating issue for a while. After updating the BIOS the other week, the issue stopped completely; however, the second the newest NVidia (364.47) driver finished installation, the screen flickering immediately started again. Any help on fixing this issue, that does not require dismantling my computer, would be appreciated.

Thanks!

We are sorry to hear that your Y70 laptop screen is flickering.

Please do confirm which operating system is running on your laptop.

Y70 touch - Screen Flicker

I updated the BIOS as recommended by Best Buy support (they're awful anyway). The screen flickering immediately started again after updating the NVidia card. Any help on fixing this issue, that does not require dismantling my computer, would be appreciated.

I am running Windows 10. It's ridiculous that this is such a common issue and that no fix has come out for it. Computers aren't exactly cheap and I'm pretty concerned with the lack of a solution for this.

Re: Y70 touch - Screen Flicker

Hi mozzarellastick ,

Greetings.

Have you tried uninstalling from device manager and reinstalling the latest Intel driver for Windows 10.

Did the flickering started after the NVIDIA drivers update ?

How about doing adriver rollback to previous NVIDIA drivers then change how it would driver update to never to install automatically from Windows update..

If same issue even recommended BIOS update , I would suggest calling in tech support for recommended repair as per resolution

" If you are experiencing these symptoms, please upgrade your laptop to BIOS v3.03 or above:

http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/DS100998

If the updated BIOS fails to resolve these symptoms, please contact Lenovo Service for support and reference Service TIP # SF15-I0026/ HT104155

Update us how it goes.

Regards

Lenovo Y70-70 Touch Laptop Screen Flickering

This is my third time making this thread with no working solution being posted.

I purchased a Lenovo Y70 Touch Laptop several months ago. Since a few weeks after its initial use, it has had constant horizontal white lines flickering across the screen at random intervals. I updated the BIOS and it fixed it temporarily. The issue came back once more.

I am running Windows 10. I have updated my NVidia and Intel drivers. The BIOS is up to date. I have tried to change the power settings with no luck (the recommended options are not present).

Many others seem to have this issue and also have not been helped. I really don't like causing a fuss, but these computers aren't cheap and the lack of help has been very alarming.

Re: Lenovo Y70-70 Touch Laptop Screen Flickering

HI.

You can test whether these lines or flickering screen, also leaves you entering bios, if they leave entering bios may have a problem on the graph, if under warranty, make use of it and more when already tested in updates the driver without success.

This I would have to verify a technical.

Regards.

Re: Lenovo Y70-70 Touch Laptop Screen Flickering

No worries. English is a hard language to learn. I disabled the Nvidia graphics driver to see what the source of the issue was. Since the Nvidia Driver has been disabled, I haven't experienced flickering or screen issues; however, keeping the graphics driver I bought the computer for permanently disabled isn't an option, so I'd like to figure out how to fix this.

Also, I can't register my computer as I guess I have an abnormal serial number. It's coming up as "not found", so I can't call support to get help over the phone.
