Lenovo Y70 Touch - Touchscreen reading false touch events

Hi, I have a Lenovo Y70 Touch with Windows 10.

Recently, my touchscreen has been malfunctioning.  Randomly, the touchscreen will start receiving touch events at various locations of the screen withouth me touching it, making it nearly impossible to do anything (By touch events, I mean it is as if someone is touching their fingers to my screen over and over again).  I can disable the touchscreen, which makes it so I can do stuff at least, but I would like to use the touchscreen without a problem.

It seems like the false touch events are being received in a particular location on the left side of my screen for the most part, which leads me to believe it's a hardware issue. I ran the Lenovo Solution Center tool's hardware test and it didn't find anything, but I also didn't see a test for the touchscreen in there.

I'm stumped. Even if it is a hardware issue, I'm not sure how to proceed with Lenovo (I am under warranty, thankfully). Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Lenovo Y70 Touch - Touchscreen reading false touch events

hi mdw7326,

Welcome to the Forums.

It looks like you're experiencing a Ghost Touches on the screen similar to this thread

I would recommend you contact lenovo and report the issue as you likely need to send the unit for service.
