Re: Lenovo Y710- Upgrade to Windows 7 64bit from Vista 32bit

Webcam and DVD-RW  works no problem. Most of the win7 drivers are quite generic so load the Y730 drivers should be fine.

only Veriface does not work but it was risky as far a security goes we took a photo and held it in front of veriface and it authenticated so not great.

Re: Lenovo Y710- Upgrade to Windows 7 64bit from Vista 32bit

hey taki,

you can probably find a new driver for the dvd-rw, just look up the manufacture clicking properties in my computer, or if you really can't find it. press f8, open bios, then look under bootable drives, and its should say the make and model of your dvd-rw drive. then its just as easy as going to the manufactures website and looking up the 64bit version of the driver for your dvd-rw!

Im just buying a new hardrive for my laptop, 500gb Hitachi travelstar. Thought i would stay with hitachi because they are well accreditated and make durable and low power consumption drives. but yeah that will bring overall space up to 750gb! love that second drive lol.

Re: Lenovo Y710- Upgrade to Windows 7 64bit from Vista 32bit

I have tried finding the driver for the dvd-rom with no luck, I have just done a system restore with vista and then installed windows 7 again and that didn't work either.

I am getting really pissed of at this, the main site keeps advertising for windows 7 but I am having no joy with the 64 bit version Robot Mad

Re: Lenovo Y710- Upgrade to Windows 7 64bit from Vista 32bit

Some Feedback on my Y710

Its running windows 7 64-bit without any problems, and the answer the question above yes my webcam is working.

I used the collection of drivers as per the previous posts so there is no problems there.

I just upgraded my CPU from a T5500 to a T8300 and its flying, I think I will be adding a Seagate Monetus XT hybrid drive just because.

You suggest to use Y730, but there are no dvd drivers for Windows 7 (64).

Re: Lenovo Y710- Upgrade to Windows 7 64bit from Vista 32bit

I had the windows 7 upgrade of my vista 7 Lenovo Y710 and I lost the use of my easy capture camera. In your post you said that you loaded the Y730 drivers to your computer and your camera worked fine. My question is where did you find the drivers to download? I would appreciate your help. Thanks.
