Here's a bit of a longshot, but I'm hoping that it can be salvaged.
A year ago our Z50-70 decided that it would shut itself down and not turn back on again. It's been sat in a drawer ever since, until yesterday when I decided to give it a look.
Our son has a Z50-75, so I tried his charger - nothing. I then tried his battery and it turned on.
The laptop boots in to Windows and works 'as normal' except the sound does not work.
When connecting the charger it shows as 'charging' and the LED light comes on, however, it is not charging. Remove the battery and the laptop will not turn on at all.
I have tried all the steps previously mentioned about reinstalling/removing battery drivers. I have downloaded and installed the battery management app. I'm in the process of updating Windows 10 with all new updates to see if that does anything, but I'm at a loss.
I have tested the power connector (to the motherboard) and all is working fine on there.

Hi cib282 ,
Welcome to the Community Forums.
Same power system checkout procedure can be verified here in the hardware manual page 21-22.
We know that the battery and ac charger works on the other z50-75 so we just have the systemboard as possible point of failure.
This can be true if other parts internally iare also checked aside from the motherboard.
Hope this helps answer your query.
