today I bought a new Lenovo Z50-75 and installed Windows 10. Everything is working fine apart from the DVD drive, it doesn't appear in "This PC" and in device manager, under "Other devices" I get "HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GUC0N". I tried updating the driver but Windows doesn't find it automatically.
I also tried what I found on this link but it doesn't help too:
What can I do to solve this problem?

Hi Jere5 ,
Try to turn of the pc and use the Novo Key to turn on .
Novo Menu would offer BIOS set up , check on the main tab if the cddvd optical drive is detected and go to the exit tab to load optimal defaults. Save and exit .
Review this steps as it offers different methods that you can try ( you can proceed with methods 3,4,5 ).
Update us how things go.

Ok, in the meanwhile I updated my Windows and the DVD drive is now recognized in the Device Manager (as you can see below) but still it doesn't show up in "This PC". I tried all the methods you sent me, anything else to try?

Yes, it's recognized in BIOS and I can even boot Windows from DVD but it's not working in safe mode. It seems like the DVD drive is functional but the Windows just doesn't use it.

You have to update drivers for SATA AHCI controller , after update you will see AMD SATA controller . some reason windows not install this drivers.
Use automatic online update. my dvd working fine now.
