Hi, I guess it's my turn to add my testimony !
I bought my Z510 4 years ago and everything was fine. The second year I had the same issue as you so I applied successfully the firmware update. Nothing change, expected I replaced the DVD drive by a SSD but still no problem with the battery (2h30 of battery life Word / Internet navigation).
Now it's been 4 months that I've been living in Japan and I'm using an electricity adaptator (before I was using French electricity 220V). The same problem that I had two years ago occured now, except that I can't upgrade my battery to solve it. Now my computer shuts down when I plug in while computer is on battery. Moreover, the battery life is like 30 minutes... Please Lenovo !

2 years ago when I encountered the battery problem on my z510. I only learned about the solution only just last year, after a few months of the release of the said solution. Just a few days ago, it happened again. It started by showing that my battery is weak, then just yesterday, whenever I unplugged my laptop from its charged state, it will just automatically shutdown, just like what happened on my first encounter if the problem 2 years ago.
I tried to use the solution, but what it shows is that the firmware of my battery is already updated. Is there any ways in which I could downgrade or uninstall the firmware? Or is there another solution for my problem? Thanks alot.

Seems like I’m not the only one with this problem and no answers as I can see in this post:
as you can see this post is marked as SOLVED but these is like 14 more pages after that which denies this post as a fix because it DOES NOT SOLVE the problem!
Me and lots of other people have this battery issue, battery indicator shows 100% and stuck on that and after like 30 minutes is turns off without dropping 1%. My searches ended up here that I have to use the firmware update program that always say "there are no attached batteries that require a firmware update" so how about a real fix hah???
