Lenovo Z510 CPU stuck at 3.00 GHz

my Z510 with Intel Core i7 4702 HQ gets stuck at 3.00 Ghz when it is connected to AC Power.

If I'm in battery mode it's getting stuck at 2.2 GHz.

It's extremly annoying because the whole laptop becomes extremly hot and the fan is always on full speed.

It beginns to get stuck after a few minutes after booting the system.

Is there any solution for this issue?

Re: Lenovo Z510 CPU stuck at 3.00 GHz

Hi there, Schwado -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

On battery, laptops usually run in a lower power configuration. Under lock the CPU, slow down the fans, and turn down the screen brightness...all to preserve battery power.
Plugged in, there is no need for that, and everything runs at full speed. Hence, more heat.

Update us how it goes.
