Lenovo Z510 power button help.

2019-08-12, 15:28 PM

Hello Community!

I'm having a problem with repaired power button for my Lenovo Z510.

It's about the tape connector that turns on - it was torn in some place. Some local computer service did solder it, but after launching the noteboot it started overheating. Further repairs made short circiut for a moment. The replacement part is not available locally and they said it could be ordered from China (also they said it could be motherboard problem(lol)).

Does anyone can tell if it's faulty solder/any other part?

The symptoms before dying was flashing power led build-in the button, later it turned off and didn't light after all, then the button died.

Thank you in forward.

Regards,

Yakei

Hi Yakei,

Greetings.

Try to use the Novo button (item 2 page6) to turn on.

This should give you an alternate way to power on the machine. Resoldering the cable if often a delicate thing and would be best to replace specially if there is a physical issue found and possible to cause greater damage to the internal parts like the board.

You can follow this article on how to find parts in your region else to use the part number to search online.

I hope this helps answer your query.

Update us how it goes.

Regards
