The mute key (the far left onekey just above the keyboard that lights up) keeps randomly switching the sound on and off without me touching it.
It is makes the laptop almost completely useless for playing any multimedia.
Please can you help me with this..... I have tried resetting the bios to the default settings.
I have a feeling it may be a hardware problem - if this is so could you please tell me how to just disable all the one keys as this would certainly solve the problem.
Any help much appreciated,

I suggest you to update the audio driver and then install Lenovo energy management software.
Download the audio driver from the mentioned below web link.
Download the Lenovo energy management software from the mentioned below web link.

My mute key (and only the mute key) activates randomly, sometimes it turns the sound on and off repeatedly, but more often it just turns the sound off.
I've only experinced this while the laptop is charging, althought I'm not 100% sure about this.
Is there any way to deactivate the touch sensitive keys? I can do well without them, what I can't do with is the volume being randomly mutted
