Lenovo ideapad z500 ..not booting /shutting down immediately/ fan not working

I bought my laptop 2 years ago..I use for gaming mostly, nw it doesn't start when I press on pwer key but some times does or after 10 to 20 sec later it starts automatically....if that also doesn't work I press on nova button it power on and some time shutdown immediately...
I have noticed that when pc starts the fan spin for few sec and then stops...to make sure of that I opened the keyboard and checked the way the fan work...when I press on nova it spin for" a sec" for precise and stops when pc boot to windows also no movement of fan ..I checked the CPU temp it shows 43& starts increasing without opening any application... I think it is the problem with fan. ....
The another problem is that it some times work as if the fan is perfect after a heavy use it stops and does the above...
Pls replay and if possible gv me a address or link from where I can buy & replace the fan...

Re: Lenovo ideapad z500 ..not booting /shutting down immediately/ fan not working

Hi Sharaths,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

You can get one of the links here.

You might also need to purchase thermal paste, I personally use this one

You can check this Video on how to get access to the fane and cleaning it.

Hope this helps

Cheers!

Re: Lenovo ideapad z500 ..not booting /shutting down immediately/ fan not working

But the fan works ....yesterday I switched on the laptop via nova button but power button dead ...that time also didn't hear the fan sound means not working. ...but when I used Lenovo energy management to remove dust option the fan worked but when I shutdown by pressing power button (to test if power button is the problem or not)and again pressed power to boot but no response...
Is it any software problem thats restrict the fan to work normally...like this much temp is required then only it starts like that... Pls help ...I even gave it to service center they couldn't help instead took money for using their testing software...
I told u that it changes its behavior ..I mean sometimes starts and some other times not..

How can I control fan ?...my another qn..I tried speed fan it doesnt show fan speed....
