Lenovo y40-70 graphics driver/card issue

Hello, 

 

I have the Lenovo y40 with the intel i7-4510 and wthe AMD Radeon R9 M275 graphics card. About 1 month ago, I was in the middle of a game when my computer just shut down and gave me a blue screen. Since then, I have been unable to run my computer with the graphics driver enabled. At first, I thought it may be a driver issue and have tried both the Lenovo drivers from their page (which seemed a bit outdated) as well as the AMD drivers from the website, neither of which have worked. 

 

Furthermore, I did do a fresh install today in hopes that would fix it, however, it did not. I get the same thing, the moment it recognizes that the AMD card is working I get a BSOD. 

 

Some of the error codes that I have gotten with the BSODs are as follow: THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER, BAD_POOL_HEADER, KERNAL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE, SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION, BAD_POOL_CALLER, VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE, and KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (NTFS.sys).

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.


From the sounds of it, it is possible there is a problem with the graphics card itself if the problem persists after even a reset.

I would recommend that you get in touch with your local Lenovo support line for a possible repair on the unit.
