Lenovo y50-70 turns off after booting few seconds.

2019-11-08, 14:35 PM

Hello,

My laptop hinges were broken so I tried to replaced it with new ones. In the proces I removed the wireless module and display cables for detaching the monitor.

After replacing the hinges and reconnecting the cables, the laptop is turning on only for two seconds and turns off immediately. I can see the power, keyboard light and hear fan sounds while it's on.

I have also tried hard resetting but no luck. If anybody knows the solutions please share.

Thanks for reading...

Welcome to Community Forums! Glad to have you here.

A step that can be performed here is to press the Novo button on your laptop to see if you can still access the Novo button menu screen. It's the one that's next to your device's power button. Please check pages 3 and 4 of your laptop's user guide to see it.

You can select either Normal startup or System Recovery should you access it successfully.

You can also check your laptop's hardware maintenance manual to see the steps on disassembling it as this may seem to be that there might be a part or two that's not been connected properly after you've replaced its hinges.

This link can be also used to see the list of Lenovo partnered repair stores to submit a repair request should you encounter the same result.

Thanks!
