Lenovo y50 UHD screen blurry when on 1080p resolution

2015-04-20, 15:41 PM

Hi everyone,

I recently bought a Lenovo Y50 UHD. The UHD resolution is good but some program appear too small.

I change the resolution to 1920x1080 but it seems to have a blurry on screen.

I have a Lenovo Y50 touch with a screen of 1080p and when i compare both it is not the same quality.

Text look a little blurry, etc. Screen in general look blurry.

Is there something I can do to fix this problem?

Thanks

No. If you downscale the resolution, multiple pixels will be used to represent a single one, which will cause blurriness, meaning you will have to run everything in UHD.

Y510p: i7 4700MQ (Overclocked to 3.6GHz), SLI GT 755M (Each Overclocked 111MHz), Corsair Vengeance 16GB 2133MHz, Samsung 850 Pro 256GB, MyDigitalSSD SuperBoot 128GB, Intel Wireless-AC 7260, Windows 10 Home
Dell XPS 13 (2015): i5 5200U, Intel HD 5500, 4GB 1600MHz, 128GB Samsung M.2 SSD, 802.11ac WLAN, Windows 10 Home (School Laptop)

Re: Lenovo y50 UHD screen blurry when on 1080p resolution

Hello,

I also have the same problem. I have 1920x1080 screen, everything is fine, until i set the resolution to 1366x768. The screen becomes blurry. I dont beleive that its not possible to have it correct because:
- If  i play a game on 1366x768 , it uses my dedicated GPU , and everything is fine
- if i disable the integrated video card ( intel hd graphics 5500), the screen becomes fine, everything is sharp.

Sadly, if i disable the integrated gpu, it wont use my dedicated gpu as well, so its not an option to just disable it.

I think , it must be a driver problem. I've tried every settings with the given driver, but nothing worked.
I use the driver, that is available for my laptop on the lenovo website (  z51-70).
I wanted to try it out with the latest intel hd graphics driver, but Windows 10 doesn't let me installing it, because it says, i have a computer manufacturer driver. Even if i uninstall the driver, after i restart the computer, it is automaticly there again.

I've already spent more than 8 hours looking for  solution , but yet without succes.
Anyone any advices?
