Lenovo y50 failed to boot (default boot device missing or boot failed)

Recently had my computer crash and come up with this message. Went through the bios and discovered the hard disk was not being recognized. So I opened it up and unplugged/replugged it in. It is still giving me the same message and wanting me to boot from a network, but now in the bios it is recognizing the hard disk. Any other ideas?

Thanks a ton in advance for anyones help!!

Re: Lenovo y50 failed to boot (default boot device missing or boot failed)

Hi Oldsm66 ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

You may want to check for the hard drive integrity .

If you have a spare harddrive to boot from or use a rescue USB drive to boot into and run diagnotics .

You can also try to back up your files from the original harddrive once booted from the rescue media if needed.

Update us how it goes.

Regards
