Hello Lenovo friends,
I just bought my new IdeaPad Y500 2 weeks ago but just realised yet that the integrated WebCam and Microphone dosn't work.
The webcam does not show up in the Device Menager and the Drivers from the website won't even start to install after clicking setup.exe
When i want to use Lenovo YouCam it shows the message: There is no Webcam Installed.
With the integrated microphone there is the same problem but i can see the microphone in the device menager.
When i want to set the Microphone in sound settings , i can't hear myself.
I thought it might be a driver updated failure or somthing , so i just restarted the computer to manufacturer settings yesterday , but the problem is still up.
Any ideas how can i fix it ?
Sorry for my english

I'm having the same exact problem. I tried reinstalling the drivers for both camera and audio, didn't seem to fix it. I ran a fix with microsoft troubleshooter and that failed to do anything as well. Does anyone have an answer to this question?

I'm running Windows 7. I had the same problem you are describing, webcam completely not working. What I did was
1.) Completely uninstalled the drivers by going to the device in the control panel.
2.) Installed the Windows 7 drivers again using the downloaded .exe file.
3.) After I installed, I went back in to the device through the control panel and selected the "Update Driver" option under "Properties" then selected the folder I had downloaded the Windows 8 driver to. The update completed and told me it was successful.
Now my webcam is working. Perhaps the Win7 driver is faulty?

Make sure that if you have the program "Lenovo Settings" installed, thats where you can easily enable/ or disable fatures on your laptop in seconds. The program image looks like a grey gear.
