Lenovo y500 warranty and more...

2015-03-05, 16:57 PM

hi
I bought a Lenovo Y500 June 21, 2013 from amazon.de, since they are not yet past 24 months of purchase, the product should be under warranty, but it is not so, is on the Lenovo website that expired in December 2014. Flying on this problem, the notebook has a defect, the right speaker is not working properly, it turns off or croaks, this is the first incoveniete. Second thing the keyboard keys have faded, despite the product recently. I was not able to contact customer support via email, so I hope someone can help me. Thank You

I am attaching a photo of the keyboard

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

What happened was Lenovo started the warranty date on the day they sold the computer to the retail seller.  Lenovo usually adds an extra month to the warranty to compensate for the time the computer may have sat in a warehouse or on the shelf un-sold.  In your situation the computer sat longer than expected.  Not a problem.  I have posted a link below that will allow you to adjust the warranty.  Just select your region of the World which will then bring up a web form.  On the form select at the top that you want to update the purchase date and then fill in the form.  You can then attach a scan of your invoice for proof of purchase.  Once the warranty date is corrected you can contact Lenovo Support about getting your laptop warrantied service.

As for contacting Lenovo Support I would recommend contacting them by phone for service. You can find the phone number for Lenovo Support in your country or area by using the link below....
