Re: Lenovo y520 network issues

Hello Andrej7, nice to have you here!

Just to ask:

  • Does this only happens when connecting the laptop into a different WiFi network/connection?
  • Does other device(s) also gets disconnected randomly/intermittently to the WiFi that you're using?
  • Can you also provide us your device's machine type-model/MTM number for us to check its complete specifications?

You may try resetting your network hardware first (router/modem) for it to be refreshed.

Please also check this link that contains additional troubleshooting steps that can be done for this to be sorted out.

Update us how it goes.

Thanks!

Re: Lenovo y520 network issues

1.  No, only happens on this connection which i'm primarly connected to, it's my home internet

2. No, I think other devices don't have that problem

3. How to find my MTM number?

From that troubleshoot link which i followed which driver should i rollback? (screenshot provided)Screenshot_1.png

Re: Lenovo y520 network issues

Hi Andrej7!

Thanks for the response.

Using the screenshot that you have provided, please uninstall Realtek 8821AE Wireless LAN network adapter.

Here's the steps on how to do it:

  • Just right click it and select uninstall.
  • Please also check the box on the prompt message if asked to.
  • Once done, you'll be disconnected on the Internet.
  • Restart the laptop afterwards and connect it back to the WiFi manually.

After connecting it back to the Internet, update the laptop's network driver using this link.

Once updated, restart the laptop again for the changes to be applied and check/observe if it will connect properly now.

You may also connect the Y520 laptop into a different WiFi network/connection so that we'll be able to know if it's an issue with the connection that you're using as well.

Update us how it goes.

Thanks!

I'll try the driver reinstall and no i don't think i have problems on other networks, i think it's only on this one (my home one)

Re: Lenovo y520 network issues

Hello Andrej7!

Thanks for providing that detail.

It would be still recommended to try connecting the laptop into different network/connection so that we'll be able to identify if it's an issue with the laptop or with the connection that you're currently using.

Just update us on how it will go through as soon as you're able to perform the steps that we have provided to you.

Thanks again!
