Re: Lenovo y530 suspend problems

I installed Fedora10 on my laptop (Lenovo y530). All devices work fine but suspend doesn't work.

When I try to suspend I see this text on a screen:
Freezing user space processes [OK]
Freezing remaining frizable tasks [OK]
Suspending console(s) (use no_console_suspend to debug)
_

After that my laptop doesn't respond, so I turn it off. That is all. I tried to use s2ram, I experimented with a lot of parameters but I always get the same result.

About hibernate:
I see the same text when I use Hibenate but it restores a state of fedora. So hibernate works, it just doesn't turn off the laptop.

About tuxonice:
I tried to use a kernel with tuxonice. Tuxoniced hibenate works (it turns off the laptop), but I need suspend to ram too.

What should I do?

Re: Lenovo y530 suspend problems

I think you would be better to ask this question on a Fedora forum. Linux is not widely used and you will probably find more user's familiar with your problem there. I do know myself from installing a vrsion of Linux (i think it was Ubuntu) that power management is a real issue at times with Linux and laptops. Good luck to you!
