Lenovo y560 bios 71 - Screen brightness issue

Hello guys.

I also have a Y560 - os Win7 64b. Same problems as those presented above. I recently upgraded to BIOS 71 and the message to refresh the windows performance index was not present anymore.

However I have seen that lenovo energy management is going mad. It doesn't change anymore the brightness if you have the laptop plugged in or running on battery. At the same time it changes its settings by itself. Anyone else having this problem? I went back to BIOS 59 and the problem is gone.

Thank you,

Y560 Screen Brightness Problem

Just realized while trying to configure my settings on Energy Management that the screen brightness does not change at all when I click on a number or drag the bar side by side on Windows settings. Plugging in the AC adapter does nothing. Changing from "High Performance", "Energy Star", or any other power plan does not make a difference either. I found a few threads about similar issues but following all the steps provided did not solve anything. I've un-installed Energy Management and graphic drivers witth no luck. I've also read somewhere that removing the battery while the laptop is turned off fixed it but not for me. The only way I can change brightness is by using the fn+up&down.

I don't remember the last time it was functional, but doing a system restore or a clean installation is out of the question. I think it is a miniscule problem for such painstaking method. BIOS and graphics are the latest. No modifications done. Please, is there anything else I can try? Thanks in advance!

Intel Core i5-450 4GB RAM

Re: Y560 Screen Brightness Problem

thats not the case i am afraid, yigit. Point is after 71 bios Lenovo Power Management doesnt work properly, doesnt matter if you use Lenovo 8.752 driver or ATi's one. Reinstalling LPM doesnt help too. "Borrowing" fresher version from "neighbors" models does not help too.

Re: Y560 Screen Brightness Problem

@yigit; I made a completely different thread because none of the existing ones helped. I clearly provided you guys with specific information and trouble shooting methods I performed. I did reinstall Energy Management from Lenovo's driver website. Not sure if you read my post at all...

@staringatstars; are you having the same issue? I do have BIOS 71...

Re: Lenovo y560 bios 71

means 71 is in fault, and LPM is outdated.
