I can't seem to find my specs on the Lenovo site for my model, purchased directly from amazon. Model is 80NV0026US. This Lenovo site. http://psref.lenovo.com/Product/IdeaPad_Y700?ch=80NV00
Site does not list my model number!???
My laptop is 2 months old and is in the Lenovo repair shop (Computer shut off completely in middle of rendering files) I suspect the motherboard got fried. Not happy with Lenovo at all right now, seeing this is a gaming machine I thought it was going to be able to handle heavy computing.
Anyways, I am looking to add a m.3 SSD drive when I get the laptop back. Good deals on drives right now. Specifically looking at a Samsung - 850 EVO 500GB (MZ-N5E500BW). I can't figure out what is compatible with my machine multiple threads saying PCIe and some Nvme. No clue why this is so complicated.
Can anyone comment on the above drive compatibility?

For the M.2 slot the Hardware maintenance manual mentions that PM871 and PM951 are compatible.
The list is in here -
However, the HMM can be old sometimes and new products may also work. The only way to test this is by purchasing from a place where you can return (without questions).

That's nuts that it is such a crap shoot with these Lenovo machines. How can a company not have exact specs!?!? That list doesn't exactly sure my model number.

This is the PM871 - MZNLN256HCHP
and this is the PM951 - MZVLV256HCHP
The list of valid SSDs is on Pg 79. I can try to help you mate, but this is all the information I can find. Thanks.
