I have some annoying issues with my Lenovo z50-70.
I gave it to my cousin and he played some games on it, the battery was running low and he told me that he couldn't find the charger. So the laptop died.
Ever since it happened I can't open my laptop.
When I press the power button, the 2 lights on the front turns on but the screen remains black. No lights at the webcam turns on as it usually does. I can hear the laptop running but it wont open. I tried to connect the laptop to my TV with a HDMI cable just incase the screen is broken but it didn't work either.
When I have my charger plugged in the PC turns on automatically so when I try to turn it of it re-opens. I tried to remove the battery and hold down the power button for 30 seconds and then reopen it but it doesn't work.
I contacted support and they told me to turn the PC in for a fix but it will take a lot of time and I'd like to try some fixes before.
What I tried:
- Removing the battery and holding the power button.
- Opening the PC with and without the charger plugged in.
- Opening the PC without the battery in (Charger only)
- Holding the power button for 30 seconds trying to open the PC
Operation system - Windows 10
If you got any fixes that you want me to try please write them below.
Sorry for my bad english.

Hi jimmieK ,
Welcome to the Community Forums.
The steps you already tried have isolated a lot of things.
Just to verify, would there be display without the battery and just directly connected with theac charger? Any problems encountered when using the laptop without the battery and just directly plugged in?
Try to shut down the machine and turn it on using the Novo button (item 7 page 69) to turn on.
Try it with and without the battery (ac charger connected) .
Update us soon as convenient.

Hi jimmieK ,
Thanks you for the information.
I feel that there is nothing more to try on our end aside from backing up everything that you would need. It would be best to have it sent out for sytemboard / power ciruit assembly repair by the technical support team .
Both Novo key and power button are made ineffective and same goes with running the machine with charged battery (as indicated by status led in front).

If above steps have already been tried, then it would be safer to have a certified technician to check on the DC port and cable and systemboard power relay. This would need specific skills and tools to safely find the fault of failure.
Hard enough that we would can only use the hardware manual as board level troubleshooting would require actual schematics which are not readily available since such is proprietory.
Best not to risk your motherboard and have a technician test it through.

THanks for your reply. Does this still apply when I can hear the computer quietly whirring as it should, and the front battery and power lights are on?

Yours could be a No POST issue (a bit worse than OP case).
The power LED may go on along with the fan but would not proceed further. Caps lock and numlock led may not even respond and no display showing when connected to another external display.
Best to have it checked with your local service center.

Hello, I was just fixing this computer when I started to have exact same problem.. it can be your bios.. i tried a lot of things but the one that helped was to solder out bios battery.. keep it without any power for a minute and solder it back on.. it worked.. weird that 30sec of pressing power button didnt helped.. it should discharge the battery.. but anyways.. thats what helped me and laptop is good as new.. hope you find this helpful
