hello,

my laptop came with windows 8 and i updated it to windows 8.1 and then to windows 10. Recently i have been getting alot of BSOD and i was unable to login to windows. so i tried to load the recovery environment but it failed too. is it possible to recover them and reset laptop to factory settings?  please help

Hi ravz, 

Have you tried loading OneKey Recovery from the Novo Button Menu. You can get to the Novo Button Menu by pressing the Novo Button when the system is turned off. Onekey environment should load once you select System Recovery.

hey jamdy, yes i tried it few times. i got a very similar message as in the 1st picture.

Hi,

 

In this case then the recovery partion is corrupted and you need to get a copy of the recovery disc. If the system is still under warranty you can call Lenovo and request for a copy of the recovery disc.

You can still get a copy of the recovery disc but you have to pay for it.

See if a shop can repair the BSOD for you. Reinstalling will result in everything being lost. EVERYTHING, files, pictures, emails etc etc

Its a long job updating as well from scratch both MS Updates. Lenovo's packages then reinstall all you apps, configuring and customizing to get things back. Problems during all this adds time.

I'd allow 2 days min.

Normally if it can't be fixed you restore your backup image of the drive for at least C & system_drv.

sorry about all the confusion.. let me try to explain once again. i got BSODed about a week ago and couldnt login to windows. the screen freezes after the lenovo logo. i tried the novo button to reset to factory setting which gave a a similar OKR error as shown in the 1st picture. i didn't make a recovery cd because my cd drive stopped working after a month or two. so i took it to a nearby shop and they installed a different version of windows 10. Now that i can login to windows i found the recovery partition what i want to know is that is it possible to access and restore the recovery partitions? please check the 2nd picture
