Lenovo z580 battery

2012-12-19, 14:16 PM

I just bought Lenovo Z580 i5 version that come with a Nivida card about 5 days ago and the battery is about an hour an a half,  when I first used it, it gave me conflicting battery indicators so it give for example 50% 1 hour and then if I check afterward it gives me a higher number like 2 hours or so.

the problem is now at a full charge and just internet usage it gives me 1 and half hour

my question is such battery life normal it's much lower than advertised not even 2 or 3 hours

Do not game on battery, it will kill it, for internet browsing you should get 3-4hrs , have you checked your battery wear or done a battery calibrate.

Check the wear with the program below.

You battery looks OK,  66-67c on your cpu, that`s not an idle temp right? my z580 idles at about 35c , you might want to run taskmanger and see if any apps are using too much of your cpu as that will shorten your runtime.

Try the free version of BatteryBar i have been using it for years, and it is a lot more accurate than the windows version.

Download links at bottom of page.

http://batterybarpro.com/

Or Battery Care

http://batterycare.net/en/index.html

Make a restore point before you install or remove anything.

well Batterybar shows the battery at most 2 hours, my question is that normal? I thought it would be 4 hours of battery in the least 3 or at least 3 hours. batterybar show it as 2 hours and W7 Indicator still gives its different indication.

Well Am on win8,I5,1GB Nvidia 630m,500GB HDD...

comparing to yours my temperatures are low..!!

Normaly my machine will give nealy 6 hours without wifi(only text mode or browsing with LAN)

with wifi on giving 3-4 hours..!

Play games while you connected to Power.nvidia uses optimus technology..!that will switch Intel 4000 and nvidia in the basis of availablity.Nvidia graphics cards consome more power !! So play high end games only when you connected to power. If you play high end games with power it dont use your Nvidia,it will use Intel 4000 itself :P

try this and say..!!
