Dear arjungarg

Welcome to Lenovo forums

can you find the HDD detected in the BIOS and if yes
try to press F9 and then select yes and then

f10 and select yes also

Please inform me if you still face the same issue

Thanks

Re: No boot device found in lenovo ideapad Z560

seayman,

I know its a bit irritating. But can you tell me how do I check that? I am a kind of kid at doing all this. The information about my laptop specification were given by me through enter the setup of startup, and there is a information tab in it.I'd be really really gratefull to you if you help me with this. Re: No boot device found in lenovo ideapad Z560

I have had the same problem with my lenovo z560,

 I turned it on and this came up on my screen;

Intel UNDI, PXE -2.1 (build 083)

copyright (c) 1997-2000 intel co-operation

This product is covered by ine or more of the following patents:

US5, 307, 459, US5, 434,872, US5,732,094, US6,570,884, US6, 115, 776 and US6, 327, 625

realtek PCIe FE family controller series v1.19 (09/10/09)

PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable

PXE-MOF: Exisitng PXE ROM

No bootable device-- insert boot disk and press any key

I have tried accessing BIOS, none of the F12/10/2 keys work just aloud pitched beep comes from it?

I have since purchased a new Internal Hard Drive, however, same thing happens?

Help?! PLEASE! I am literally desperate.

Re: No boot device found in lenovo ideapad Z560

that means either your hard disk went into RAW or it has gone dead so system isnt detecting your hard disk.

Have you ever dropped your laptop on the floor or so? since some people appear do accidently do that and then claim they never had dropped it once when you then find their hard disk is at 0% Health or not even powering on that means hard disk is to damaged that read head is not responding or moving anymore causing laptop to not detecting anything from it so to confirm go to boot menu and tell us what you find in boot menu list like what devices? is it only dvd player if it has one  and what more?

Re: No boot device found in lenovo ideapad Z560

I've not dropped it at all, and I've bought a new harddrive, and have that as well as the old one.. and still nothing. I'm sorry I'm not too sure how to get to the boot menu?

Re: No boot device found in lenovo ideapad Z560

go into bios then in top area you find information and so on, there you should find something named Boot go to that and you should see a list of what devices are boot able if your hard disk, old one and new one wont appear inside that list then it sounds like the SATA port on your motherboard is broken since it's not detecting anything.

so to have that fixed would probably need a new motherboard :/ unless SATA port is alone on it's own card like some notebooks do which has a cable going above drive from 1 end to motherboard or somethng like that.
