At last week i get my ideapad y510p. The setup includes i7-4700MQ, 16GB RAM, Samsung 256BG SSD and
a Geforce 755m.
So i installed Windows 8.1 and all drivers from the lenovo site for this setup. I also did all windows updates. Everything works fine and really fast like it should with an ssd storage.
Then i installed games on my system, to really test the power of it.
And here comes the problem. I cant play any game on this notebook, because Games dont start. The Installation works fine but i cant start them. I get different error messages. With Diablo 3 i get the Message that my Hard Disk is full, when i try to start the game, but there are 186 GB left free. Other Games simply get the error message from Windows "Game does not react" and shut down.
So for me it seemed like an driver problem and i check all drivers 3 times and checkt my system with the lenovo solution center to find out any driver issues. But i didnt find any. Everything on this notebook works fine, only Games dont work..
So i really dont know whats left for me to do ??? i really need some help!

Did you install FIRST Intel HD4600 drivers, and then Nvidia drivers?

I just got my Y410P and had this same problem. My steam games weren't working, and League of Legends wasn't running on my GT755M, and instead using the Intel 4600. So I did a full restore.
I first installed steam and LoL, and they both worked.
Then I tried updating NVIDIA Geforce driver to 332.21, and that's when everything stopped working. I restored back to the original driver and things worked again.
I then updated to Windows 8.1. Luckily everything still seems to work ok. I am currently running NVIDIA driver 327.62.
Can anyone tell me why driver 332.21 doesn't seem to be compatable with the y410p/y510p? Any suggestions?

Windows 8.1 332.21 - black screen after update ( just restart and see )
331.82 - it`s posibble to upgrade to that one without any issues
(instal the HD 4600, update the GT755M from Device menager, download the 331.82 form Nvidia and install/ do a Express install, not a fresh one ) Recheck driver inside the nVidia menus before restarting or you may have trouble )
Windows 8 332.21 - posibble
I noticed Y510p suffers some kind of driver problems with the GT755M
I think the reason is the optimus driver combined with the chipset driver
